I believe angels exist on earth and I believe they come in all shapes and sizes. I believe they are sent to us to help us through our dark times. They’re all around us. Sometimes they’re sitting next to us on a plane or sometimes they’re giving us directions back to our hotel. Sometimes they surprise us when they appear but we’re always thankful!
Every day, new angels fly into my life and I always recognize them immediately. I know that whenever an angel appears, God is speaking to me and guiding me so I follow faithfully, without hesitation or question. I am beyond indebted to the armour of angels that He has blessed me with during yet another massive rebirth—from my awesome web designer to my artist friends to the producers I met—each contributing their gifts and talents to fulfill a common purpose of healing mankind. I am not sure what each person’s reason for contributing is and it doesn’t matter to me, really, because my heart feels their genuineness and all of us are just having fun doing what we love, really. My friends and I aren’t religious people and we have varying degrees of spirituality and whatnot, so it’s not like we’re doing this together because we share the same religious or spiritual beliefs because in fact, we don’t! We’re just a bunch of artists expressing our art, really.
One angel worth sharing with the world is my dear friend R. She is the girlfriend I never had growing up. Her love and support at this poignantly critical transition in my life is allowing my mind to rest while I tune more and more into my heart. What I love about R is her unwavering love for and commitment to me. She gives me so much of her time, her energy, her heart and her soul, and she does it all with grace and compassion. She is a beautiful giver and she makes giving a beautiful thing to do in life. She is an inspiration to me! The most transformative thing that has come out of our connection is that her love has given me life and it is from this space that I am now creating my “masterpiece”.
Upon returning home abruptly, R took me into her already full house and gave my godson’s room to me, which I affectionately nicknamed My Magical Mandala Matrix. She gave me the freedom to comfortably settle into my room while blessing me with delightful hand-me-down clothes and access to her car at my disposal. Her role to me is significant because she is my sounding board and she knows all the voices and personalities that make up the whole me. All my works in progress have flourished astronomically in this matrix of mine and I’ve got my printed writings thumb tacked on the walls and doors!
Other angels in my life are the close friends I lean on the most during those rough times. These close confidantes make up my beautiful tribe. I have immense gratitude for them because without them, I would not be the person I am today. They support me through certain choices I make because they get me and where I’m coming from. They accept me as I am and they give as much as I do, often times more than me. They comfort my pain and suffering and celebrate with me when I reach new dreams.
Lastly, I give thanks for all the sweet angels who’ve graced my life with their guidance, laughter, protection, generosity, and love over the years. You know who you are. You are my old college rival. You are my CouchSurfing hosts and surfers. You are someone I met in Costa Rica, Europe, Hong Kong or India. You are an old classmate or someone from the streets of Atlanta. You are the cyber friends I dream of meeting. All of your love and support mean more to me than you will ever realize. I look forward to the day when I can repay all your amazing kindness.
